Victorville takes its name from Jacob Nash Victor, a California Southern Railroad manager. The 1885 station was called Victor and was renamed Victorville to avoid mail mix-ups with Victor, Colorado. Sources: California Department of Finance, Wikipedia, NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020.
